Hi!  I'm Sarah. I'm a native Texan who has recently returned to my hometown (Austin, Texas) after living in Paris, France for over three years with my French husband, Guillaume.  Gui and I met in Austin in 2006 and I started this blog to keep in touch with friends and family after our long-distant relationship moved me to Long Beach, California in 2007. It took a lot of traveling, patience and love, but eventually, Gui and I started our married lives together in Paris in 2008.

Living in Paris was not exactly a fairytale experience for me. Learning French, learning the French, and being so far from my beloved family, friends and country at times made it hard to bear. But, with the support of my fellow expat friends and an incredibly encouraging husband, I stuck through the rough patches and found myself growing more and more in love with the City of Light and the people living there.

At the end of 2009, after a semester of French classes and a part-time job at a lovely Parisian Tea Salon,  I landed a job with a great French company, and when the time came in 2011 to accept a new contract or try our luck at life back in Austin, we decided to take the plunge and move.  Then in June 2012, our lives changed completely when we welcomed our little girl, Avienne into the world.

*Update: In March 2017, we welcomed baby Loden into the fold!*

It's been an exciting, hectic, hilarious and often frustrating experience finding balance for our family as we live between two countries, but we wouldn't have it any other way.  I've learned loads about myself and my limits living in a foreign country, and I'm grateful for the life I'm living and the people I've met on my journey.  La vie est belle.

When I'm not taking care of my sweet babies, I try to sneak in time to knit, read and daydream about the next destination.
